People talk about the transformation into motherhood

Before we’re in it, we envision a postpartum experience like the golden-light-filled Instagram accounts we followed. Then we quickly see none of that is real. We are equal parts hopeful & scared. As a perinatal therapist, I help you navigate the uncertainty of your new role in a way that is vulnerable, empowering, & productive.

About

I'm a licensed clinical social worker & certified perinatal mental health professional. My passion for the pregnancy and postpartum experience came after the birth of my first baby and our scary, isolating, and humbling NICU stay. I knew I wanted to help mothers and birthing people through this uniquely difficult and achingly beautiful moment in their lives. I am one of the rare born-and-raised-in-Austinites and have an appreciation for Tex-Mex to show for it. I received my Bachelor of Social Work from Texas State University - San Marcos and my Master of Science in Social Work from The University of Texas at Austin. As is the case with so many of my clients, finding time for myself as a mom of a teenage stepdaughter and two young daughters takes a lot of work and intention. When I do find space for myself, I love Pilates, dancing (usually around the house with my kids), and digging into the latest Ann Patchett novel or parenting book. Who I Serve I believe meaningful therapy is rooted in a collaborative relationship, not a prescriptive one. I work with clients in every stage of their journey: from those struggling to get pregnant or adopt, to dealing with day-to-day life while pregnant, to birth preparation and processing, to the practical and emotional challenges of parenting and postpartum. I will meet you where you are. Come to me with the right words or without them, from your car or your closet, with a baby on your chest and cheeseburger in your hand. I only ask that you are willing to share your truth with me. I will come to you with reverence for your lived experience: though I may be able to relate, I can never know exactly what it’s like to be in your body and your world. Cultural humility is critical to how I approach my relationships with clients.
